DCWV - The Sky's The Limit Stack

What's up people?!   Here today to share a simple card I made using a  pretty adorable new DCWV stack called The Sky's The Limit.  It has all my favorite things - clouds, suns, hot air balloons...you know, all the BEST stuff!

Take a look:

As you know, I am a BIG fan of the cut-apart sheets that are often included in DCWV stacks.  Well, this stack's cut-aparts are SUPER cute and just so useable.  I actually sat down and cut them ALL out, just because I could.  I'm insane, I know, but is was very gratifying seeing the large pile of cuteness on my work table.

Do you like the little epoxy over the sun?  I punched that straight from the stack using my Epiphany Crafts Round 25 tool.  I love the pop and shine that it adds!

Supplies: DCWV (The Skies The Limit Stack); Clearsnap (Chestnut Roan Chalk ink); Epiphany Crafts (Round 25 tool)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Look for this stack to be popping up in your local Michael's along with (My other FAVORITE stack from this release!) Sweet Tangerine.

WOW Wednesday 4 - August

Hello, and welcome to another WOW Wednesday!

If you haven't gotten the kit yet, it is now available for one-time purchase!  There is a Classic kit and a Mini Kit and both are SUPER cute!!

I love the fact that Heartstring kits have so much variety in the way they can be used.  For this layout I stuck to a few of the non-Simple Stories papers, but used all the same embellishments from the kit.  This layout is totally non-birthday themed, but actually uses several elements from  the birthday supplies in the kit.

That face is irresistible, isn't it?

I LOVE the Jillibean letters that come with this kit!  They are printed with a teak wood pattern and they were perfect for a little contrast here.

So, have you been crafting these past few days?  Have you made any tags?  Well there is a tag gallery challenge going on over on the Heartstring Ning, so, head over to our little community and upload your creation for a chance to win!!!

Now, if you'd like to see more inspiration, get over to the Heartstring blog and take a look at all the fun projects by this month's designers!

Thanks for stopping by!

The Royal Castle Shoppe - Washi Tape Feature

Hello there people!  I'm hear today to share some projects I recently made using some Washi tape and other various crafty supplies available in The Royal Castle Shoppe.

The deal with the royal washi tape is that a 6-roll bundle is $10 and the assortment is chosen at random (but I will tell you, Ms. TSQ has great taste and will totally hook you up - not to worry!).  That is a great deal for washi and she has tape from the top brands in the industry!!

I've also used some Royal Castle Shoppe Buttons (love, love, love!!) and a party straw!

Now that I have you interested with all the fun products I've used, let's get to the projects!!

I love how these buttons have pretty, unique shapes and designs and this washi, with the little swirl design just stole my heart - so I knew it had to be part of a "love" themed card!  Using a pre-made cardbase, this card came together in nothing flat!!

My second project is a layout that is just packed with punch!  I loved these washi colors so much that I was inspired to create a background paper with them.  The buttons came in super handy here, used as anchors for my little embellishment clusters and I love the big, bold statement made by the party straw.  I thought the little banners of washi on the party straw looked like a road sign - appropriate for this page about a family vacation!

I hope you loved today's inspiration!  If you thought you might want to recreate some projects like these, head on over to The Royal Castle Shoppe on facebook and ask for an invite to the shop (PS - everyone gets in!).  The buying process takes only a second to get used to and then you are off, getting some of the latest crafty goodness at an awesome price!

Thanks for taking a look!  If you want to leave a comment, let me know what cool or unusual ways you've used washi tape on your craft projects!!

Keep it royal people!

Sweet Tangerine Layout - DCWV

Hello people!  Dropping by today to share a layout using one of the beautiful new stacks from DCWV, called Sweet Tangerine:

I had a total blast using this stack.  I loved all the cut-outs in this stack and the pages of banners were calling my name from the very beginning!  Take a look:

I used some fringe scissors (Martha Stewart) to add lots of texture under the banners.  I layered up a few cut-outs, wood veneers, and some epoxy shapes I made using my Epiphany Crafts shape tools.  I used some letter stickers and my silhouette to cut my title.

My title might be a little confusing without some back story.  This picture or my mother, my house sister, and I was taken on the day when my grandparents said goodbye to our sweet exchange student, Virginie.  I remember those last few days as very bittersweet.  We tried to fill them up with lots of laughter and fun, but there was no slowing down the clock.  I've been thinking about my sister a lot lately.  We recently reconnected with her and discovered that she has been having some health trouble.  I feel so far away from her and with money so tight and some other obligations being what they are I fear that it might be s long time before I see her again - if ever.

----------------------------------------------------------

Supplies: DCWV (The Sweet Tangerine Stack, The Basics 6x6 Stack); Martha Stewart (Fringe Scissors); Marvey & Fiskars (Circle Punches; Jenni Bowlin pinwheel punch); Wilton (Doilies); Studio Calico (Wood Veneers); We R Memory Keepers & The Paper Studio (Brads); Silhouette (Cameo); Simple Stories (Letter Stickers

---------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have you ever scrapbooked someone because you missed them, or because they were far away?  If you have, tell me about it in the comments!

Wow Wednesday - August (3)

Hello! Just dropping by to post my project for this WOW Wednesday, using the August Heartstring kit, "Life's a Party".

This week I made a layout using a picture of my mother, grandmother, and I on my 25th birthday.

I love the cut-apart sheet from this collection kit! It has so many great element that I used here as embellishments including the cake and the little tag that says "another year older".

On my 25th birthday (which took place shortly before my first design team experience) all I wanted for my birthday was an entire day spent shopping for scrapbooking supplies.  We started early in the morning and by the time we were done we had been across the state lines, in several counties and we had filled up my grandma's kitchen table to overflowing.  Many of the supplies and tools I got that day I still use.

----------------------------------------------------------

Non-kit supplies:  Scissors and pigment ink around the edges

Thanks for taking a look!!  Don't forget to head over to the Heartstring blog for more Wednesday inspiration!! HERE

Also, if you have recently made a tag, please don't hesitate to join in the gallery challenge on our community and upload your latest creation - you could win a prize!! HERE

Wow Wednesday -August (2)

Hello people!  Just a quick one here to let you know that there is a new Wow Wednesday post over on the Heartstring Designs blog!!

Here is my project for this week!

I used a little birthday hat die with the cardstock in the kit and added one of the buttons.

To finish, I attached the "let's party" panel with an action wobble and called it done!!

The Royal Castle Shop - GCD "Indian Summer" Cards

Hello my lovely readers!  I hope you've had a wonderful week and you are looking forward to an even better weekend!

I'm here today to bring you more projects featuring items that can be found in The Royal Castle Shoppe!

The collection I will be featuring today is actually a very neutral, soft color pallet that would be great for scrapbooking almost any family member, young or old, male or female (or animal!).  But, I took one look at it and it SCREAMED baby boy cards, to me.  So, I went with the muse and she didn't do me wrong, not one bit!

Before we get to the projects, here's a little product parade:

Buttons!

GCD, "Indian Summer"

Excited yet?  Well, then, on to the projects!

I was so amazed at the way all the patterns in this collection coordinated with each other!  The simple color scheme really helps things along; as you see, I was able to use four patterns on this blooming flower baby shower card and they work so well together.  I'm in love with this card!

With this card I wanted to show that it is possible to isolate the blues and browns in this collection to be even more baby boy-oriented.  Although I used this collection for two baby themed cards, this collection has no thematic elements, so I could see it being used for lots of different themes.  Don't think you have to use it just for baby!

---------------------------------------------------

Other supplies: Distress ink, ribbon, Flower dies (Cherry Lynn Designs, Memory Box), Flower Punch (Martha Stewart), Stamps (Hampton Art for Echo Park, Bundle of Joy), Ink (TPC)

------------------------------------------------

Feeling inspired?  Want to order some GCD "Indian Summer" and assorted buttons for yourself (among SO much more available in the shop)?  Head on over to The Royal Castle Shoppe and request and invite!  You'll be added (fairly quickly) and you can begin shopping the awesome selection of paper crafting goodies that arrive in there almost daily!

I'd love to hear what you think about these projects, so comment away!  And, stay tuned for more projects featuring other products available in the shop, in the weeks to come!

Thanks for stopping by!

Keep it ROYAL people!

Heartstring Designs WOW Wednesday 1 - August

Hello!  And a very happy:

Stopping by to give you some details on my Wow Wednesday project for Heartstring Designs!

I love, love, LOVE the Simple Stories collection pack included in this month's kit!  I had been waiting on just the right bunch of supplies to come along for this section of my February project life album and this month's kit was perfect!

I just love this cutting file "birthday" that I added from this Miss Kate's Cuttable silhouette file, found in the silhouette store: HERE.  I cut this word using some of the cardstock included in this month's kit.

There are several pages of journaling cards in the Simple Stories portion of this kit and I love using them to fill up a pocket in my page protector.  These cards are double-sided (as is all the paper in the Simple Stories pack) and I plan on journaling on the other side since I had so many photos for just this one page, I decided to do my journaling hidden, that way I didn't have to accommodate it in my design).

I love the little accents that come in this kit like the buttons, twine, and the card of decorative ribbon.  But, for me, the most awesome thing in this kit is the Studio Calico Chevron Stencil!  As you can see, I created some extra pattern on my cardstock mats with the stencil and some walnut ink spray from my stash.  I also lightly spritzed the stencil over my 6x12 layout to give my photo a little anchor.

I'm a SUPER fan of letter stickers and this kit contains THREE small alphabets, ONE Medium sticker alpha, AND a large chipboard alpha!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Take a look at the other WOW Wednesday projects over on the Heartstring blog HERE, and don't forget to join our community, The Heartstring Ning, and upload a recent TAG you've created for a chance to win a Simple Stories Sn@p album and an assortment of ribbon!  Enter HERE!

Welcome back Heartstring hoppers!

It is day two of the Heartstring Designs' August reveal hop and I have a fun tag to share with you.  But FIRST - details about the kit:

Looks pretty good, doesn't it!?  How about some inspiration?  Yes, I think so!

I LOVE how this tag came out!  I am a big fan of Andrea Budjack.  If you don't know her, do an image search of her name and you will be bombarded with beautiful projects!  She is especially good at making wonderful, layered tags.  I TOTALLY give her work credit as inspiration for my sweet birthday tag.

Wouldn't you like this hanging off of your next birthday gift?
(Everything on this tag is from the kit except the distress ink I used to ink the edges.  I die cut the doily with a Sizzix doily die.)

Heartstring Designs August Blog Hop - "Life's A Party" (Day 1)

Hello Heartstring hoppers!

We have a new kit to reveal to you today and some awesome inspiration to share!  First, the kit:

This kit is SUPER wow! It contains trim, rosettes, buttons, twine, action wobbles, letters, a stencil and papers from Simple Stories, Echo Park and Crate paper!  You will LOVE this kit for documenting all your birthday parties and making cards, gifts, and tags for that special person in your life!

Now, I KNOW you came here for a little more than a run-down of the kit - so, without any further ado, a project.
I have created a card for you today, using one of the journaling cards from the Simple Stories paper along with some trim, a rosette and (my favorite!) the small letters from the sticker sheet!

I really enjoy the combination of elements in this kit - and I've only used a FEW of the things included in the kit!  The only thing on this card not included in the kit are a few little scraps I used to frame the journaling card.

DCWV - Linen Closet Mini

Looking for the Jinger Adam's + Kiwi Lane project?  It can be found HERE.

Hello people! Here today to bring you a little DCWV inspiration from a beautiful new stack called "The Linen Closet Stack"  Take a look:

There is a really cute label from the icon sheet in this stack that says "Our Story".  I thought the little label made an awesome tag for a little mini.  I purposely didn't put photos on this project because I thought it would be an awesome idea to write the 'story' on the back of each the tags and then just let the pretty papers tell the story from the outside, and only the people involved in "the story" would see the hidden words.

You could also give this to a newly married couple to put some snapshots of their wedding (brag book) or add photos and journaling of a long friendship for a special person in your life.

The foil accents on this stack are just awesome!  I love the modern prints (chevron) mixed with some more vintage ones (damask).

Supplies: DCWV (The Linen Closet Stack, 6x6 Cardstock Brights), Craftwork Cards (Card CANDi), Other (Twine, Ribbon)

Thanks for visiting!  I love feedback, so comments are greatly appreciated!
